Backbone of Australian Team Not Available—

The skipper of the Australian Cricket Team, Pat Cummins, the captain, is out of the Champions Trophy due to his ankle injury that he sustained in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, which is going to be a big relief for the Indian Cricket Team, Pat Cummins has given India deep wounds in the ICC World Cup 2023 Finals and in the WTC 2023 Finals.

Josh Hazelwood has a hip injury due to which he is not a part of the Champions Trophy squad and Mitchell Starc has some personal reasons for not being a part of the squad. These three bowlers are the backbone of Australian cricket and game changers for the finals and semi-finals, which would be a headache for Indian cricket, but their absence will be a big relief for the Indian fans.

Some Brilliant Newcomers in both the Teams—

New Addition to the Australian Team for the Champions Trophy:

Australian all-rounder Cooper Connolly, the replacement for Matthew Short, a left-arm spinner and left-handed batter, has played about 6 international matches, including 3 ODIs, and has acquired brilliant skills in both batting and bowling.

Spencer Johnson, an Australian left-arm seamer called the successor of Mitchell Starc, has played only a few international ODIs but creates a great impact on the game; in the T20Is, he has a bowling average of 17.07.

Ben Dwarshuis, a young Australian left-arm pacer, has played only 4 ODIs but created a statement by taking 8 wickets with an average of 22.25.

New Addition to the Indian Team :

Varun Chakravarthy, an Indian spinner from Tamil Nadu, has been a mystery for many international batters; he is a right-arm leg-break googly bowler. He has played only 2 international ODI matches for India but has a bunch of 6 wickets with an average of 16.00 and an economy of 4.80. In the last match against the Kiwis, he got his 5-wicket haul. He is going to be a trump card for India in finals and semi-finals, and his bowling style is supporting the pitch of Dubai.

Arshdeep Singh an Indian Left-arm Fast bowler has played about 9 International ODI matches for India and has got 14 wickets with an average of 23.00 and an Economy of 5.17, including one 5-wicket haul and one 4-wicket haul in his small ODI career.

Travis Head will be the biggest threat for the Indian cricket team as he has a batting average of 43.12 and a strike rate of 101.76 in ODIs against India. He has been a nightmare for any Indian cricket fan, as he has been in brilliant form against India in finals and semi-finals. He had scored a brilliant knock of 137 against India in the 2023 ODI World Cup Final, and in the WTC 2023 final against India, he scored 163.

If we have to counter this threat down, then we have to play with Arshdeep Singh, as in the last few matches, the biggest areas of concern for Travis Head are left-arm seamers in the initial phase of the innings, as he has the lowest batting average of 24.3 and the lowest strike rate of 86.2 against the left-arm pace. “Arshdeep needs to attack Head’s stumps initially with that inswinger,” suggests former India pacer Zaheer Khan.
